UC OPEN DAY FEST
Sat 20 Sept, 9am - 3pm
As a UC Student Mentor you will provide support to your new peers from day one. You will be a friendly face to connect with support, act as a guide, share your experiences for the first 8 weeks of your mentee’s semester.
You can expect to be connected to a network of likeminded people, access to specialty training and development opportunities, social events, exclusive mentor pack and invite to the Student Experience Awards.
We seek Mentors from all faculties, diverse lived experiences and at different stages in your education journey.
Here's a step by step view:
Apply to become a mentor in S2 2026 by 4th July 2026 via button below.
Your application will be reviewed, including a faculty approval check.
Successful applicants will be contacted to apply for a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Check and to complete the UC Student Mentoring Agreement.
Attend a full-day, in-person training session. This includes two in-person modules and one self-paced online module.
Mentor-mentee matching will take place on Orientation Week. You will be matched with up to 5 commencing students based on your degree, shared lived experiences, interests and hobbies. As a mentor, you will meet your mentee weekly in semi-structured coffee catch-ups on campus or online through Weeks 1 to 8.
We truly value the time, effort, and passion our mentors bring to the community. As part of the UC Student Mentor Program, you'll enjoy a range of exclusive benefits designed to recognise your contribution and support your personal and professional growth:
Becoming a mentor isn't just about giving back, it's an opportunity to grow, connect, and be recognised for your impact.
